Estate Sales

Estate sales can be fun. You get to snoop through somebody’s house that has gone to a nursing home, or has left in some way. You never know what you will find, or who you may see.
My daughter and I frequent estate sales almost every Saturday morning. This particular Saturday was no different than any other. We leave from the house early, map in hand, our steps well planned. Going to the first couple of stops, we really haven’t found anything yet. The day is young and there are many stops we need to make. My daughter spied a sign. It said “estate sale”. I guess I missed that one in the paper this morning I thought. We turn down the street. The houses are old plantation style homes built in the early 1900’s. These houses were well kept. I thought we may find a treasure at this sale.
Stopping, looking where to park, so many cars, we had to park two houses down from the sale. Getting out of the car, we met a pleasant old man, well dressed with a cane. He smiles at my daughter, as most people smile at children. We walked to the house, went up the steps into the front door. A nice lady greets us with a welcome. Looking around I see a picture, I say to the lady, “that’s odd”, this is the man we just met on the sidewalk. The lady looked at me, puzzled, and said “that’s my father”. This is his house. He passed away last month.

ok, I know some of you don't beleave in ghosts, but thats ok. The story would not be interesting if it was not for the imagination.
